On Friday, April 19, 2024, the National Sports Commission (NSC) conducted its third workshop at the Meeting Venue in Luz Clarita, Dili.
Over 30 participants engaged in the workshop, which was directly overseen by the Director of the Department of Physical Education and Sports at UNTL, the Vice Director, and Professor Joao Mendoca. The workshop aimed to provide students with essential information regarding anti-doping, the testing process, and how the anti-doping tests can detect prohibited substances.

As part of the NSC’s upcoming plans, Anti-Doping training will continue in May, focusing on athletes and their support personnel who are slated to participate in international events such as the Olympic and Paralympic Games in Paris, the ASEAN University Games, and the Community of Portuguese Speaking Countries (CPLP) Games to be hosted by Timor-Leste in 2025.
Thus, it is imperative for players and coaches attending these events to actively engage in these training sessions to acquire comprehensive knowledge. This includes utilizing materials provided by the World Anti-Doping Agency through the Anti-Doping Education Learning System (ADEL). Upon completion of the training offered by WADA, participants will receive a certificate directly from the agency.
